Let's be honest: 'Winelands' and 'budget' don't often appear in the same sentence. Most estates in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch fall in the mid-range to luxury tier. But with the right knowledge, and a bit of flexibility on date and format, you can get a genuine Cape Winelands wedding without overspending.

How to Stretch Your Rands

Timing is the most powerful lever. Winter weddings (June–August) typically attract off-peak pricing, sometimes significantly reduced from peak rates. A Tuesday or Thursday date can also unlock discounts that a Saturday won't.

Look for venues that allow you to bring your own wine or charge a reasonable corkage. On a 100-guest wedding, the difference between in-house pricing and BYO can run to tens of thousands of rands.

A Realistic Note on Pricing

Venue pricing changes seasonally and annually. Always request a current quote directly from the venue. Our tiers are a guide, not a guarantee.

Our Mid-Range tier covers venues where total venue costs typically fall between R50,000 and R150,000. Your full wedding budget, including catering, décor, photography, flowers, and transport, will be higher. Venue costs are typically 20–35% of a total wedding spend. Use our venue tiers as a starting point, then contact each venue for a detailed quote based on your specific date and guest count.
